SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Regis University Rangers dropped a 79–56 decision to the Black Hills State Yellowjackets in an RMAC contest Saturday afternoon. Regis moves to 1–19 overall (1–15 RMAC), while the Yellowjackets improve to 15–8 (12–4 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emily Allison and Jessica Bollwahn opened the scoring for Regis at the free-throw line, before Allison added a layup and Kate Gallery knocked down a fastbreak three to give the Rangers an early 7–2 advantage. Mary Crossland connected on a jumper, and Kaylin Venick drained a triple as Regis held a 16–12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Black Hills State responded in the second quarter with an 8–0 run to regain control, building a 24–16 lead. Allison halted the run with a jumper, and Bollwahn added a pair of free throws, but the Rangers trailed 37–22 at halftime.

Bollwahn opened the second half scoring for RU, while Allison added a three-pointer and a layup. Despite the effort, the Yellowjackets maintained momentum and stretched their lead to 47–31. Gallery answered with back-to-back pull-up jumpers, and Allison continued to attack from beyond the arc, but Regis faced a 60–40 deficit heading into the fourth.

In the final frame, Gallery scored in the paint and followed with five straight points for the Rangers. Allison added two fastbreak layups, Savanna Staff knocked down a jumper, and Josephine Lynch converted a late layup, but Regis ultimately fell 79–56.
