ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University Softball team split a doubleheader with Adams State University (Colo.) on Saturday. The Rangers cruised to victory in the early game, 25-10, but fell in the late match, 4-2. The Rangers move to 3-9 (2-4 RMAC) on the year, and the Grizzlies now sit at 4-12 (3-3 RMAC).
GAME ONE
ASU would take the first lead of the game, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. But RU responded in the top of the second, loading the bases on a Kristin Ingram double and a pair of walks. Kiauna Smith then reached on an error, scoring Ingram, and Jessica Isbell was walked, batting in a run. RU then took the lead with Olivia Wick's two-RBI single. An RBI double and a scoring single flipped the lead again in the bottom of the second, but Regis took back the lead for good in the third. Bella Bordine doubled to lead-off the inning, and Angelina Romero-Barros singled to lead the bases. Natasha Ellison's single scored a pinch-running Adisyn Rademacher, followed by an Olivia Darby double that scored two more. Smith pushed the lead to 8-5 with a single that brought home Ellison.
The Grizzlies brought the game within one in the bottom of the frame with a two-run double. However, the Rangers kept their momentum rolling in the fourth, as Smith cleared the bases with a double that brought the score to 11-7. Isabella Porter's lead-off single, followed by two walks, loaded the bases again for Regis in the fifth. Porter scored on a Rmero-Barros fly ball, while Smith took an RBI walk to bring in Bordine.
After three straight grounders retired the Grizzlies, Regis added to their lead with a Porter RBI double and a Romero-Barros RBI single. Adams used three hits and an error to score three runs in the bottom of the sixth. However, the Rangers did not relent, leading 15-10 going into the final inning. Darby was walked to lead off the inning and scored on Smith's double. Smith scored on the next AB, an Isbell single, while back-to-back doubles from Wick and Porter scored two more runs. Porter came home on Ingram's fly ball, while Eleanor Sikora scored on a Jane Quinn single, Romero-Barros scored on Darby's single, and Quinn scored on Smith's single in three-straight at-bats. After Darby reached home, Wick added a final triple that batted in Smith to end the inning. In total, RU scored 10 runs on nine hits, and secured the 25-10 win.
GAME NOTES

GAME TWO
The late game started with eight straight outs before Ingram reached on a walk. However, ASU scored first in the bottom of the second on a wild pitch and added another run on a passed ball. After a quick third inning, Regis would get on the board in the fourth. Two straight errors allowed Isbell to score, and a double by Porter batted in Wick.
Smith's single would be the only base runner in the fifth, while Porter was stranded in the sixth after a double. With the game tied at 2-2 going into the final inning, Quinn earned a two-out single, and advanced to second on a Janelle Erickson single. However, the two would be left on base. The Grizzlies then took the win with a walk-off triple in the bottom of the seventh.
GAME NOTES
· Vanessa Candito (L. 0-3) threw 6.1 innings, striking out six batters
· Porter went 2-3 for RU, batting in one run
