ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University Softball team secured the series win over Adams State University with a pair of wins on Sunday afternoon, 8-1 and 12-8. The Rangers improve to 5-9 (4-4 RMAC), while the Grizzlies drop to 4-14 (3-5 RMAC).
GAME ONE
The Rangers would start the game strong, with Kiauna Smith and Isabella Porter being walked, and both scoring on a Bella Bordine double. After a quick bottom of the first, including an Eliza Legge strikeout, Adyson Radeacher reached base on a two-out single, then stole second. Smith was walked again, as a Jessica Isbell single batted in Rademacher. With the bases loaded, Smith scored on Porter's RBI walk, and Isbell on Bordine's RBI walk.
RU retired three straight batters in the second and third, and after two hits but no runs in the top of the fourth, Regis turned to a double play to help get out of the bottom of the inning with no harm. Jane Quinn started the fifth with a single, and made it to third to set up an RBI for Smith on her single to left, extending the Rangers' lead to 6-0. Adams scored their first run in the bottom of the fifth, on a back-to-back double and single.
The Rangers kept their momentum into the sixth, leading off with a Porter double and Bordine single. Natasha Ellison then added a single that scored two more runs, going up 8-1. The Grizzlies attempted a rally in the seventh, loading the bases with two outs, but a pop out to third ended the game there with no more runs scored.

GAME TWO
ASU would jump out to an early lead in the series finale, scoring four runs in the first inning on two hits, including a bases-clearing double. Neither team would manage a run in the second or third, but in the fourth, with two outs, Quinn singled to left center. Enyssa Dominguez followed that with another single, and Hailey Haas scored them both with a double to right center. Smith followed with an RBI single, bringing the score to 3-4.
However, Adams recouped those three runs in the bottom of the inning, with three hits and three stolen bases leading to three runs scored. Regis responded in a huge way in the fifth, starting with a lead-off triple by Olivia Wick. Bordine doubled to bring her home, while Quinn was walked with bases loaded. Dominguez's single scored two runs, taking the lead. Quinn scored on a Rademacher grounder, and Smith's single scored Dominguez, pushing the lead to 9-7.
A bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the fifth got one of those runs back, but the Rangers' bats stayed hot in the sixth. Quinn doubled, bringing home Porter and Zoey Langerack, while Smith singled to score Kristin Ingram. After three straight outs in the sixth, ASU only managed one runner in the seventh, and RU earned the 12-8 win.
