DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Softball team suffered a pair of losses to Colorado State University-Pueblo in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, 11-1 and 7-3. The Rangers fall to 5-11 (4-6 RMAC), while the Thunderwolves climb to 11-9 (7-3 RMAC).
GAME ONE
After two quick outs, the Thunderwolves got a runner on with a walk, who would steal second, and come all the way around for the score. Jessica Isbell doubled in the bottom of the first, but was stranded on base. Two more walks and a single in the second scored another for Pueblo, but RU got out of the inning by catching a runner trying to steal home.
Janelle Erickson would get all the way to third in her at bat, but also be left on as the Thunderwolves added to their lead with an RBI double in the top of the third. Regis recorded a pair of singles in the third frame, from Isbell and Olivia Wick, but were still left scoreless.
CSUP had a big fourth inning, scoring four runs, three of which were unearned, on five hits and an error.
However, the Ranger responded in the bottom with their first run, as Kristin Ingram singled, Angelina Romero-Barros was walked, and Natasha Ellison batted in Ingram with a single. Neither team managed a run in the fifth, but in the sixth, Pueblo used a triple, a double, and a handful of bunts to score four more runs. Emily Darby singled to lead off the second, but a double play and a grounder ended the game, 11-1.

GAME TWO
The Thunderwolves started the second game by scoring two runs in the top of the first, including a solo homerun. They would add a third in the second on an RBI single, but an extra runner trying to score was thrown out, let-to-short-to-catcher. Despite a single from Enyssa Dominguez, and a set of loaded bases, RU was unable to get any home in the bottom of the frame.
A triple from Olivia Wick brought around Kiauna Smith for the Rangers' first run, but Pueblo had an answer in the top of the fourth. Four hits, all singles, was enough to score two more runs, pushing the lead to 5-1. Ingram singled as the first batter in the bottom half of the inning, and Dominguez's triple batted in the pinch runner, Zoey Langerack. She then came home on an RBI grounder from Emily Darby.
The top of the sixth saw three more singles for CSUP before an RBI walk and an RBI FC to go up, 7-3. Dominguez and Hailey Haas started the Ranger half of the sixth with two straight singles, and while Smith added another to load the bases, three were left on again for RU. In the final inning, Regis retired three straight Thunderwolves, but while Porter led off with a walk and advanced all the way to third on a pair of wild pitches, no other Ranger would earn a base.
