GOLDEN, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team completed the series sweep of Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon, defeating CSM, 24-9. The Rangers improve to 5-3 on the year, while the Orediggers fall to 0-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Robbie Peppell was hit by a pitch to lead off the game, and scored immediately after on a double from Bobo Iandoli. Jack Moulin getting hit by a pitch, and Ethan Wood reaching on an error loading the bases for a Mason Pettingill grounder RBI, followed by an Ayden Harrison two-RBI single. After a Mines pitcher change, Dylan Perry batted in Harrison, then stole second. George Smith posted a single to drive in Perry, the sixth run of the opening inning. After three quick outs, Peppell was walked to lead off the second inning. Moulin batted him in with a single, while Pettingill batted in his second run of the day to push the lead to 8-0.
CSM scored their first run in the bottom of the second on an RBI grounder set up by a leadoff double. They continued to chip away at the lead in the third with a fielders choice RBI and an unearned RBI single. RU got back on the board in the fourth, as Peppell was walked yet again, and scored for the third time of the game on Wood's RBI. However, the Orediggers still gained ground in the bottom of the frame with a pair of RBI singles.
In the fifth inning, Parker Burt wore a pitch, and got all the way home on Smith's single, followed by an error. Following that, Peppell earned his first hit of the day, bringing home Smith, then eventually scoring his fourth run on a Moulin ground ball. Regis ended the inning with a Wood double that scored Iandoli. Three more hits from Mines brought in three more runs, bringing the score to 13-8, and they added another in the sixth, scoring on a wild pitch.
A single and two walks quickly loaded the bases for Regis in the seventh, with Iandoli scoring on a passed ball, Harrison lining a sacrifice fly to score wood, and Burt slamming a three-RBI home run. Making it throught the inning, Iandoli singled, with scored Smith, and Moulin doubled, bringing in both Iandoli and Grayson Headrick. Wood added the exclamation point, homering to bring the lead to 24-9. The defense then closed out the game with three quick outs.
GAME NOTES
· Iandoli led the Rangers, going 4-4 with two RBIs and five runs scored
· Peppell scored four runs, and Moulin and Wood added three runs scored apiece

· Grant Belcher (2-0) earned the win, striking out two batters
· Zach Gregory and Daniel Strohm added strikeouts as well
