SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Regis University Softball team ended an eight-game skid on Saturday afternoon, as they split a doubleheader on the road at Black Hills State (S.D.), 10-4 and 1-5. The Rangers now sit at 6-18 (5-13 RMAC), while the Yellow Jackets move to 14-15 (11-7 RMAC).
GAME ONE
Following a quick first inning, Regis had a huge second, starting with an Isabella Porter walk, a Bella Bordine sacrifice bunt, and a Kristin Ingram single. Jessica Isbell batted in Porter , and after Angelina Romer-Barros earned a base on balls, Wick singled, scoring two. Jane Quinn immediately followed with an RBI single, and Porter's second AB of the inning resulted in a bases-loaded RBI walk for the 5-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets scored their first run of the game in the third, as a single and a stolen base set up an RBI double. In the top of the fourth frame, Wick doubled to left center, which brought home Natasha Ellison, and Kiauna Smith brought her around with a single. An RBI walk by BHSU in the bottom of the fourth brought the score to 7-2.
With two outs, Wick reached on an error, Quinn singled, and Smith batted in another run with a single. Ellison's lead-off single in the seventh frame set up another RBI single for Wick, while Quinn doubled to score Wick yet again. Black Hills scored two runs on three hits in the bottom of the final inning, but the comeback try ended there.
GAME NOTES
· Wick led the Rangers, going 3-5 at the plate with four RBIs and four runs scored
· Quinn and Smith both batted in two runs and notched multiple hits
· Sammie Kaufman-Warner went 2-4 with an RBI for BHSU

GAME TWO
Following a quick, scoreless first inning, Bordine and Isbell both singled in the second. While Black Hills brought in the first run of the game on an RBI double, the relay from center to short to home prevented another run. Both teams posted a single run in the third, but neither scored.
More of the same in the fourth, as both teams would leave two runners on bae, but the score remained 1-0. Quinn singled in the fifth, and made it to second, but was stranded there, as was Emily Darby, who was running for Bordine's single in the sixth. In BHSU's half of the sixth, with two outs, they would get walked, double, single, and triple all leading to four runs and a 5-0 lead. Wick posted a triple in the top of the final inning, and scored on a passed ball, followed by a Smith single. However, the rally bid fell short there, 5-1.
