DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Softball team traveled to cross-town rival Metropolitan State University of Denver, but dropped the doubleheader, 0-3 and 5-6. The Rangers fall to 12-24 (11-19 RMAC), while the Roadrunners improve to 26-14 (19-11 RMAC).
GAME ONE
MSUD took the first lead of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Kristin Ingram recorded the first Ranger hit in the second with a single up the middle, but was stranded on second base. The Roadrunners added a second run in the second with a sacrifice fly, and a lead-off homer in the third pushed the advantage to 3-0.
Isabella Porter started the fourth with a single to short, and Ingram was walked, but they would get no closer. Metro got runners to second and third in the bottom of the frame, but a Vanessa Candito strikeout ended the inning with no damage. Adisyn Rademacher and Jane Quinn were both walked in the fifth, but again, two runners were left on base for RU. In the final inning, Rademacher and Olivia Wick earned a pair of two-out singles, but no Ranger reached home.

GAME TWO
Regis responded in the second game, as back-to-back doubles from Quinn and Porter gave RU an early lead, and Hailey Haas added a single. The next nine batters of the game were retired before Wick led off the third with a single, and made it to second on a Quinn sac bunt. However, Metro would be the next to score in the bottom of the frame, with a triple followed by a sac fly.
Kiauna Smith sent a single through the right side, and scored on Enyssa Dominguez's single. She was then brought home on a double from Rademacher. MSUD left two runners on in the bottom of the fourth, but after a scoreless fifth, they scored on an RBI double in the sixth. Sophia Garcia's strikeout helped end the scoring there.
After Rademacher was walked in the final frame, Wick sent a homer over the center field fence to go up, 5-2. In the bottom, two singles and a walked loaded the bases with Roadrunners. A throwing error allowed two runs to score, with a double to center gave Metro the lead and the win, 6-5.
