DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Softball team picked up two wins over Chadron State College (Neb.) on Thursday afternoon, 6-5 and 6-4. The Rangers improve to 10-22 (9-17 RMAC), while the Eagles drop to 4-31 (4-22 RMAC).
GAME ONE
CSC opened the game with a pair of unearned runs scored in the top of the first, while Olivia Wick answered in the bottom with a lead-off single, stolen base, and scoring on Bella Bordine's single. Jessica Isbell recorded the lone hit in the second inning, and both teams scored one run in the third. Chadron turned a stolen base into a run on an error, while Isabella Porter led off the bottom with a single, stole second, and came home on Kristin Ingram's RBI single.
The Eagles added a fourth run in the fourth inning, an RBI single to center field, and a fifth in the fifth with an RBI double. In the bottom of the frame, three straight singles by Jane Quinn, Porter, and Bordine scored a run, and Ingram batted in Porter with a grounder to second. Natasha Ellison evened the game at 5-5 with an RBI bunt to bring in Zoey Langerak.
In the sixth inning, Wick doubled to left center, advanced to third on a passed ball, and put RU ahead, scoring on Porter's double. Vanessa Candito struck out two batters in the seventh to help secure the 6-5 victory.
GAME NOTES
· Porter went 3-4, batting in a run and scoring two
· Bordine batted in two runs on two hits

· Brogan Allen was 2-3 with two RBIs for Chadron

GAME TWO
The Eagles jumped out to another early in the second game, as two walks set up a three-run homer in the top of the first. Regis got two of those back in the bottom, as Wick posited another lead-off single, followed by an RBI single from Porter. She was able to steal third, and scored on a error.
Ellison and Adisyn Rademacher posted singles as Regis loaded the bases in the bottom of the second, but none reached home. Candito struck out three batters in the third, but a throwing error allowed an unearned run for CSC in the fourth.
The Rangers exploded in the fifth inning, starting with Quinn and Porter singles, followed by a Kiauna Smith RBI single, a Kristin Ingram RBI single, and two runners scoring on an Ellison bunt that turned into an error as RU took the 6-4 lead. Both teams recorded one hit in the sixth, while Candito caught two batters looking in the seventh to end the game.
GAME NOTES
