DENVER, Colo – The Regis University Men's Soccer team, who were receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, drew a 1-1 tie with #14 Western Washington University on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers move to 2-1-2, while the Vikings sit at 4-1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Liam Corr missed a shot high early in the match, but redeemed himself by scoring on a give-and-go with Jan Grillitsch off a corner kick in the 12th minute. RU took three more shots before WWU took their next attempt, finding the back of the net at 29:09. Zach Jennings saved the next WWU shots, while RU closed out the half with four more tries that landed off target.
The Rangers' defense took over in the second half, allowing only one more Viking shot. Regis kept a constant pressure on, earning seven second-half corners and putting three more shots on goal. However, WWU keeper Charlie Dyer secured the point for the Vikings, as the match ended, 1-1.
