• Spent three seasons at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind.
• As a freshman pitched 10 innings, striking out nine with a 5.40 ERA

• A 2006 graduate of Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colo.
• Three-year starter at Regis Jesuit High School, where he pitched and played first base/outfield
• Served as team captain as senior
• Earned all-city and all-state honors
• Posted a 3.16 ERA (53 Ks, 31 BB, 48.2 IP) with the Cherry Creek Connie Mack squad, in the summer of 2006
• Named second team all-conference as a junior (3.34 ERA, 73 Ks, 56.2 IP) for team that won regional title and reached state semifinals
• Rated #1 Prosepect in Colorado in 2006 by Baseball America
  
• Totaled 24 Ks (18 IP) as a sophomore
• Played in Top-50 Game, held at Coors Field
• Lettered two years as a soccer fullback and two as a basketball guard at Regis
• Averaged 15.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as 2005- 06 basketball team captain where he was named also all-conference and all-state
• Earned academic all-state honors in baseball and basketball, as a junior and senior
• Awarded Branch Rickey Humanitarian Award (from Rotary Club of Denver)
• Member of National Honor Society
