COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University men's and women's cross country teams took to their respective races on Saturday and came away with noteworthy results from the UC-Colorado Springs XC Open at Monument Valley Park North.

Coming off a two-week hiatus, freshman
Annika Zenk led the Rangers on the women's side in their 5-kilometer race. Zenk crossed the finish line in 20 minutes, 16.6 seconds and took 39th overall.

She was followed by freshman
Lily Saddoris, who registered a finishing time of 20:57.4 en route to a 46th-place showing.

Right behind Saddoris at the 20:59.9 mark was junior
Sarah Smagacz in 47th.

Senior
Samantha Holland placed fourth among Regis competitors and was 52nd overall. Holland completed her race in 21:19.5.

Theodora Zastrocky (21:56.3) and McKenna Uhing (24:11.8) finished in 55th and 59th, respectively.

A trio of men competed for RU in the 8k race.

Vincent Frazier led the way for the Rangers' 8k competition. Frazier reached the finish line with the clock reading 27:54.1 for a 92nd-place showing.

Just behind him was freshman
George Kaftan in 93rd overall with a time of 27:58.4.

Graduate
Scott Kordziel (34:44.5) finished his race in 126th overall.

Regis will now set its sights on the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, which will be held at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction, Colo. The Colorado Mesa-hosted meet will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, with the women running their race at 10:50 a.m., while the men begin theirs at 11:45 a.m.
