PUEBLO, Colo. – On Sunday afternoon, the seventh-ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (9-0, 2-0 RMAC) beat the Colorado State University – Pueblo ThunderWolves, 16-9, marking the best start to a season in Regis women's lacrosse history. The 2017 squad started the season with eight-straight wins, losing their ninth game. With the win today, the 2019 team has won nine-straight games to begin the season.
How it Happened: The opening half was a lot closer than Regis would have liked it to be as the ThunderWolves managed to stick with the Rangers for the first 30 minutes of play. Senior

Jordan Winchester each had one goal apiece in the first half as RU held a 6-4 lead at halftime.
It took only 12 seconds for Regis to get a goal in the second half when junior
Andrea Macalalad extended the Rangers lead to 7-4. Myres followed up with her third goal of the game to put the visitors ahead by four goals, 8-4, less than two minutes into the second half. From that point on, RU outscored the home team 8-5 on their way to a 16-9 conference win.
Game Notes: Despite losing the draw control battle 14-13 on the day, Regis managed to control the game offensively with 36 shots (29 SOG) to only 24 (18 SOG) for the ThunderWolves. Myres was the leading point scorer in the game with six points (5 G, 1 A, 4 GB, 1 CT, 1 DC) and Peoples followed with five points (3 G, 2 A, 1 GB, 2 DC). Redshirt-junior
Jessica Berg had another strong all-around performance with two goals, two assists, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and a team-leading six ground balls. Freshman
Maya Quigley finished the game with a team-high four caused turnovers and five draw controls. Sophomore
Elle Crawford (W, 9-0) spent all 60 minutes in net for the Rangers making nine saves and allowing only nine goals.
Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 7 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team will travel to Kansas City, Missouri for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) matchup with Rockhurst University (6-5, 3-1 RMAC) on March 30 at 1 p.m. MDT. Following that game, Regis will return home for a single game against the No. 14 ranked Colorado Mesa University Mavericks (8-1, 2-1 RMAC) on Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m.
