DENVER, Colo. – On a warm Thursday afternoon, the No. 4 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (14-0, 7-0 RMAC) clobbered the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs Mountain Lions by a score of 16-5.
How It Happened: The first goal of the game came from the visiting Mountain Lions who got on the board 6:53 seconds into the game. This would be the only goal UCCS would get for nearly 17 minutes. During the stretch, Regis put up nine goals to take a 9-1 lead featuring goals from redshirt-senior

Wendy Donier (2), redshirt-junior
Jessica Berg (1), and juniors

Ali Vanek (1). At halftime, the Rangers held an 11-3 advantage.
Myres and sophomore
Kyleigh Peoples scored back-to-back goals in the early part of the second half giving RU their first 10-goal lead of the game, enabling the running clock. Regis had their opportunities to break open the game even further, but the had many of their shots hit the post or bounce off the crossbar. The largest lead of the game was 12 for the Rangers at 15-3 and 16-4. The final goal of the game was scored by the Mountain Lions with 2:40 on the clock. Senior
Hope Correia took over for sophomore Elle Carwford (W, 14-0) at halftime, providing some big-time saves in net for RU.
Game Notes: Lugo (2 G, 3 A) was the team-leader with five points as three other Regis players recorded four points in the contest. Vanek (1 G, 3 A, 1 CT) collected her four points with one goal and three assists, while Donier's (2G, 2 A, 2 GB, 1 DC, 2 CT) four points came by way of two goals and two assists, and finally Myres (4 G, 4 DC, 1 CT) tallied her four points by netting four goals.
Senior
Lauren Hurd (3 CT, 3 GB, 3 DC) led the charge on the defensive front with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Berg (3 G, 1 GB, 2 DC, 1 CT) helped out on both ends of the field, scoring three goals and adding 1 caused turnover as well. Crawford made three saves in the first half for a .500 save percentage. Correia followed up with four saves and a .667 save percentage.
Up Next for the Rangers: The No. 4 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team will celebrate their Senior Day on Saturday when they matchup with the Adams State University Grizzlies at 1 p.m. The final game of the regular season will be an April 27matchup with the Westminster College Griffins in Salt Lake City, Utah.
