TUCSON, Ariz. - The Regis University softball team (5-4, 0-0 RMAC) capped their weekend trip to Tucson with a big win over Desert Stinger hosts, MSU Billings (4-8). The squad was one hit shy of their season-best 13 hits in the game as six Rangers put the ball into play.
How it Happened: Regis scored five unanswered runs through the third inning. Freshman
Kylie Harpman (1-1) had her first run charged against her in the third when a Yellowjacket runner got home on a triple in the bottom of the third.
Regis was never really in danger though, the team scored two more runs in the fourth and sixth when the freshman
Miia Campos and
Rachel Williams each had RBI singles.
MSU Billings had a solo shot over the fence in the sixth, but that's all they could muster.RU won the tournament closer. 7-4.
Game Notes: The Rangers scored seven runs off 12 hits and had two errors.
Campos was a perfect 4-4 in the box and had two RBI.
Freshman
Mia Moore was 3-4 and also had two RBI.
Williams was 2-4 and had a RBI while graduate student
Allisha Martinez also had one RBI.
Up Next For The Rangers: Regis will return home this weekend when they face St. Edwards (4-1). First pitch is set for Saturday at noon.
