Rangers open their season at the Rust Buster Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The first meet for the Regis University women's cross country team was completed this morning at the Rust Buster Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

Freshman Mariah Heuer paced all Rangers, placing 60th overall with a time of 21 minutes, 43.6 seconds. Senior Mikaela Taylor crossed the line close behind in 64th place in 22:18.1.

"Overall performance was pretty decent for our first race," said Regis women's cross country head coach, John Esquibel. "We just wanted to finish the race and get our meet in."

Rounding out the Rangers runners were McKenna Uhing, Lily Saddoris, and Annika Zenk. Uhing placed 67th and finished with a time of 22:40.5. Saddoris finished in 71st place with a time of 24:24.6. Zenk finished in 72nd for the Rangers with a time of 24:28.1.

The women will race again on Sept. 17 at the Roadrunners Invitational-Washington Park.
