Regis softball posts third best GPA for DII teams, has 21 players earn All-America Scholar-Athletes by NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced its 2023 list of All-America Scholar-Athletes, presented by Easton, honoring thousands of high school, junior college, and NCAA student-athletes.

Regis University softball capped added to its laundry list of academic accolades for 2023 as the team posted the third best team GPA for the 2022-23 academic school year and had 21 student-athletes earn All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition.

The Rangers, who won the program's eighth straight RMAC Brechler Award earlier this summer recognizing the conference's best team grade-point averages for each of its 21 NCAA-sponsored sports, finished 2022-23 with a team accumulative GPA of 3.778. That mark was the best softball GPA in the RMAC and right on the heels of fellow Division II foes University of Central Missouri (3.81) and Post University (3.82).

In addition to the team award, the Rangers had a total of 21 players earn NFCA Scholar Athletes recognition. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have achieved a 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale during the course of 2022-23 academic year.

The NFCA recognized nearly 8,300 student-athletes in this year's program across all three levels of the NCAA, the NAIA, two-year colleges and all remaining four-year institutions, among them 1,790 student-athletes from Division II.
