Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Rangers Unable To Catch Tigers Despite 22 from Mayo Harmon

HAYS, Kan. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team finished the 2024 year with a 62-80 loss to Fort Hays State University (Kan.) on Sunday afternoon. The Rangers fall to 5-7, while the Tigers improve to 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

A Trey Bryant three-pointer gave Regis an early 6-4 lead, while an Eddy Egun dunk kept the Ranger sin the lead. While Kobe Sanders hit a pair of triples, the Tigers still took the lead, 42-21. Egun evened the score, and Chase Mayo Harmon scored from deep to put RU ahead again, 29-27. However, FHSU scored eight of the last 10 points to lead 35-31 going into the break.

Kyle Grill hit a three for Fort hays to start the second, but a Bryant steal led to a pair of free throws for Mayo Harmon. Jalen Brown's layup brought the game within three, but that would be the closest RU got for the rest of the game. The rest of the Rangers scoring would be led by Mayo Harmon and Chi Achara, but it would not be enough, as the Tigers took control for the 80-62 win.
