Paniagua claims his first RMAC Player of the Week award

| By:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced its Player of the Week winners for Week Three on Tuesday, with Regis University junior Adam Paniagua taking home the position Player of the Week award for his monster performance in the Rangers' 3-1 series win over Minot State.

Paniagua tormented the Beavers across the two teams' four-game series, finishing an eye-popping 7-for-11 with five walks, two home runs and 10 runs driven in to balloon his conference-leading batting average to .526 through the season's first 12 games.

The Rangers' primary catcher capped his big series with a 2-for-3 performance in Monday's series finale, highlighted by a grand slam as part of a six-run seventh inning that put the game away for the Rangers.

In addition to leading all RMAC hitters with a .526 batting average in the early going, Paniagua also leads the conference in on-base percentage (.647), total hits (20), and is tied for the top mark with four home runs.

Tuesday's announcement marks the first RMAC Player of the Week award for Paniagua. He and the rest of the Rangers will look to continue their strong start to 2024 when they welcome in No. 10 ranked Augustana for a four-game series this weekend, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday with Game One.
