Ethan Sloan earns RMAC Pitcher of the Week honors

| By:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the baseball Players of the Week awards on Tuesday, with Regis University senior left-hander Ethan Sloan earning Pitcher of the Week honors for Week Eight.

Sloan excelled in high-leverage situations over the weekend, picking up two saves and a victory across three appearances in the Rangers' 3-1 road series win over crosstown rival MSU Denver.

The Regis southpaw pitched two scoreless innings, struck out four, and picked up the save in both games of last Friday's doubleheader sweep (11-8 and 3-1) of the Roadrunners.

On Saturday, Sloan was called upon again to help get the Rangers out of a two-out, bases loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth to keep the score deadlocked at 6-6 at the time. Regis would go on to score two runs in the top of the tenth inning before Sloan slammed the door in the home-half of the inning to earn his second win of 2024.

In total, Sloan pitched a total of 3.1 innings in the series win, allowing just one hit while striking out seven and not walking a single batter.

The Regis closer is enjoying a career senior season as Sloan enters play this week with a sparkling 2.35 earned run average (ERA), a 2-1 record, a RMAC-leading five saves, and 32 strikeouts in just 15.1 innings pitched.
