HOW IT HAPPENED

Kaylin Venick would start the scoring for the Rangers off a defensive rebound from Jessica Bollwahn. After that, neither team would score for three minutes until Rambells would get one to fall in the paint. Kate Gallery would add a jumper to end the quarter, Rambells lead 14-12.

Turnbow would knock down a free throw and a jumper to start the second. However, Angelo State would go on a nine-point run, taking a 24-17 lead. Gallery would end the momentum with a triple and a layup after a steal from Turnbow to put the Rangers within four. Turnbow would add another free throw, and Gallery hit one from beyond the arc, Rangers down 26-30 at half.

The Rambells would come out with an early eight-point run, staying ahead 36-28. Turnbow answered with back-to-back jumpers assisted by Crossland. Both teams would hit a scoring drought until Allison got hot from downtown, RU behind 35-39. Josephine Lynch added the last basket of the quarter, Angelo State 42-40.

To start the fourth, Allison would add a layup followed by Gallery, Rambells still ahead 49-45. Angelo State would maintain their lead, scoring the next seven points. Venick would end their run with a triple, but it wasn't enough as the Rangers would fall 51-61.
