SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Regis University Baseball team battled California State University San Bernardino on Saturday in a doubleheader that resulted in two Regis defeats, 26-16, and 11-6. The Rangers fall to 4-3, and the Coyotes climb to 4-2.
GAME ONE
After Regis went three-up three-down in the top of the first, CSUSB put together a huge opening frame, scoring 1 runs on seven hits, including three doubles. Zach Barnao solo homered in the top of the second to get Regis on the board, and in the top of the third, Clay Conn stole second, then scored on a Coyote error. Jack Moulin singled, which brought home Maxim Fullerton and Barnao.
The fourth inning saw an RBI grounder from Matt Graf that scored Peter Goldy, and a single from barnao that batted in Conn. Mattias Sessing would score on a wild pitch, and CJ Difiglia doubled to left field, bringing in Fullerton and Barnao. The Rangers weren't done, as Goldy singled up the middle, which brought home Goldy and Moulin, evening the score at 11-11. The Yotes responded in the bottom of the inning, adding three runs on four hits.
In the sixth inning, San Bernardino extended their lead to 18-11 behind two hits and two Ranger errors. However, Regis battled back in the top of the seventh, as Adam Paniagua scored on an error, Moulin's singled scored Graf, and Goldy's double brought in three runs. The Coyotes held on to their momentum, going back up 24-26 on three hits and two more Regis miscues. CSUSB added two more runs with a double in the eighth that scored tow more runs. The Rangers did not manage a runner in the ninth, and the high-scoring affair ended there.

GAME TWO
The Coyotes took another quick lead in the second match, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning off a three-run home run. Matthew Gahan got the Rangers on the board in the top of the second, singling up the middle to bring in Moulin, but San Bernardino scored two in the bottom of the frame to extend their lead to 5-1.
In the third, Paniagua singled, which led to Conn coming home and Sessing scoring on a throwing error. Graf added to the comeback with a grounder that scored Paniagua, and Moulin posted a solo homer to even the runs at five apiece. However, the bottom of the fourth saw a home run by the Yotes that put them up once again, 7-5.
CSUSB batted in two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a double to right field, and two more in the sixth on another double, this time to center. In the top of the seventh, Barnao doubled to score Paniagua, but the rally attempt ended there.
