PUEBLO, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball dominated Colorado State University-Pueblo in the final game of the series, Sunday afternoon, 12-1. The Rangers improve to 19-11 (9-3 RMAC), while the Thunderwolves fall to 13-13 (3-5 RMAC).
GAME ONE
RU started the first inning hot with a homerun from
Garrett Rede,
Adam Paniagua and
Ethan Wood would add a pair of singles,
Jack Moulin would bring Paniagua home, RU would go up 2-0. Regis carried their momentum into the second,
CJ Difiglia and
Ayden Harrison started with a single, Clay Conn would bring Difiglia home and Rede would add an RBI scoring Harrison. 4-0 Regis into the third.
In the third, RU recorded four hits, singles from Conn, Harrison, and
Peter Goldy and double from Difiglia, this added two more runs for the Rangers, 6-0.
In the top of the seventh,
Jack Moulin would get walked,
Maxim Fullerton singled and Goldy would bring Moulin home with an RBI, 7-0 Regis. Rede started the eighth with a double, scoring another run for RU, Paniagua would follow with a double, scoring Rede, 9-0 Regis. Pueblo added one run in the bottom of the eighth, but the Rangers would capitalize scoring three more runs to close the game 12-1 Regis win.
GAME NOTES
Rede went 4-5 from behind the plate, bringing in two runs and five RBIs.
Conn and Difiglia each had three hits.
Rangers totaled 19 hits.
Jacobs would get the win (3-1) while Frank Flores would get the loss for Pueblo (0-2).
Nick Jacobs threw eight innings, only allowing one run, four hits and adding six strikeouts.
