DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team picked up two RMAC wins on Sunday afternoon, defeating Colorado Christian University, 5-2 and 14-1. The Rangers improve to 22-11 (12-3 RMAC), while the Cougars drop to 6-30 (3-16 RMAC).
GAME ONE
CCU started the game in the best way they could, with a lead-off home run, then added another solo shot three batters later. In the bottom of the second, Regis would start to answer as Ethan Wood doubled, and Jack Moulin sacrificed to bring him home.
There would be only one hit between the two teams across the third and fourth innings, but in the fifth, RU evened the score at 2-2 behind a Mattias Sessing single that batted in Peter Goldy. The Cougars stranded two runners in the sixth inning, and the Rangers took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Nolan Johnson's single up the middle scored Garrett Rede, while a Moulin double brought in Johnson and Grayson Headrick, who was pinch running for the intentionally walked Wood. Three straight outs in the top of the seventh secured the 5-2 victory.

GAME TWO
The Cougars recorded two hits in the top of the first inning, and scored the first run of the game in the top of the second with an RBI double. CCU stranded three more runners in the top of the third, and Regis would capitalize, as they scored three runs on two hits, including a two-RBI double from Rede, followed by an RBI double from Adam Paniagua.
After a scoreless fourth inning, RU came alive in the fifth. Zach Barnao and Mattias Sessing singled, setting up a two-RBI triple from Clayton Conn. Paniagua batted in two more runs with a double, and Moulin pushed the lead to 9-1 with another single. The Rangers kept the momentum going into the sixth inning, with five runs scored on four hits, including an RBI single by Matt Graf, and two-run hits from Nolan Johnson and Sessing.
While the Cougars posted two hits in the top of the seventh inning, Regis put them away with a double play, earning the 14-1 win.
"It's great how deep our team is," said Sessing, "any guy can come in and make an impact. I try to stay loose and ready at all times so I'm ready when it's my turn. You know, baseball can be a weird sport, you never know what adjustment or player can change the game."
