COLROADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has released its 2026 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll, and Regis University has been picked to earn a share of its seventh consecutive RMAC Title. Additionally, Shea Murphy, Alyse Valdez, and Abby Mays have all been named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team.
Tied on top of the poll with the Rangers is Colorado Mesa University. Both teams totaled 23 points from three first-place votes and two second-place votes.
The Rangers and Mavericks shared the regular season crown in 2025, with the Mavericks earning the No. 1 seed based on goal differential in their matchups. However, RU would capture their seventh straight RMAC Tournament Title, and advance to the NCAA National Tournament Midwest Region Semifinal.
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs checks in at No. 3 in the preseason poll with 17 points, while Westminster follows closely behind with 13. Colorado State University Pueblo and Fort Lewis close out the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll, securing nine and five points, respectively.
Murphy is a returning First-Team All-RMAC performer, having led the conference in goals with 64. She added 10 assists, 68 draw controls, and caused 17 turnovers.
Joining her on the preseason team are 2025 Second-Team All-RMAC Honorees, Valdez and Mays. Valdez scored nine goals, assists two, and controlled 38 draws. She also picked up 24 ground balls. Mays forced 22 turnovers, grabbed 33 ground balls, and assisted two goals.
The Rangers begin their 2026 campaign hosting Maryville University (Mo.) on Feb 20 at 5 pm.
The RMAC's six women's lacrosse programs set their sights on a berth in the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship, scheduled for May 23 at Judson Stadium in Rochester, New York. The national championship tournament begins on May 21, with ticket information to be announced at a later date on NCAA.com.
