Forbord Posts Career Highs in Loss to Grizzlies

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Regis University Men's Basketball team suffered a setback to RAMC foe Adams State on Thursday night, 87-114. The Rangers fall to 1-16 (0-11 RMAC), while the Grizzlies climb to 12-7 (6-5 RMAC).

HOW IT HAPPENED

Luke Soden scored the first four points of the game for the Rangers, including taking a rebound the length of the floor on a fastbreak, and earning a trip to the line, while Dylan Forbord scored in the paint, and Gunner Walters hit a Matt Yost-assisted three. With the Grizzlies leading by six, Cooper FRith converted an and-one, while Soden, Nick Marabito, and Logan Flores-Peoples all scored in the paint to tie the game. A three from Frith put Regis up 30-24 at the midpoints of the half, but a strong run for ASU gave them back the advantage, 41-37. Forbord ended the run with a dunk, and Yost's triple brought the game back within one possession. However, a late steal and buzzer beater but Adams up, 63-52 going into the break.

ASU came out of halftime on fire, scoring the first 16 points before Yost connected from deep. He then assisted a Soden layup, while Frith assisted a Marabito jumper, but the Grizzly lead continued to grow. Soden hit two threes as part of a quick, 10-2 RU run, Yost and Forbord both earned trips to the stripe, and late in the match, Yost added another three and Forbord completed an and-one. But in the end, ASU prevailed, 87-114.
