COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time in as many weeks, Regis University's Maggie Payne was named as the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week this morning as released by the conference.
This is the third straight time Payne has been named to this award after previously earning it on Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. She has three of the Rangers' five total weekly player awards this season.
Payne makes program history with this honor as she is the only goalkeeper to earn three separate awards in a single season. She joins both Katelyn Martin and Julia Coombs who also were multi-time recipients but within multiple years of playing here.
The last time the Rangers earned three goalkeeper awards in a single season was 2021 with Coombs having two awards that year and Martin having the other.
Payne earns this award this week after helping lead Regis to another 2-0 record in conference play with a 2-1 win over MSU Denver and a 1-0 win over Colorado Christian.
She recorded 10 saves over the two games while only allowing one goal on 25 shots faced.
In addition, she tallied eight of those saves in the shutout against CCU with Payne now owning four solo shutouts on the season.
Payne currently leads the RMAC in saves with 59 while also ranking second in goals against average at 0.60.
Joining Payne as the other recipients of the weekly awards were Colorado School of Mines' Bella Campos for offensive player and UCCS's Malia Groshong for defensive player.
