COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team finished their series at UCCS on Saturday evening, recording a 15-17 loss and 16-16 tie. The Rangers move to 9-16-1 (0-7-1), while the Mountain Lions stand at 18-7-1 (7-0-1 RMAC).
GAME ONE
A duo of Rangers were walked in the top of the first, but were left on base as UCCS took the first lead of the game, scoring on an RBI single in the bottom of the frame. Dylan Hearn and Ethan Ralph both wore pitches, and George Smith was walked to load the bases for Regis in the second. Mason Pettingill singled to score the first run of the game, followed immediately by a Bobo Iandoli RBI single. The Mountain Lions would get those two runs back, however, in the bottom of the inning on three more hits. Ayden Harrison led off the third with a single, while Linus Fleek was walked, and Hearn was hit by a pitch. Smith was beaned as well, earning an RBI.
UCCS hit four solo home runs in five batters in the bottom of the third, and an RBI single brought the score to 8-3. Both teams left runners stranded in the fourth, and a Smith double in the fifth was fruitless as well. The Mountain Lions were able to capitalize on their fifth-inning double, bringing in two runs. With two outs in the sixth, Fleek doubled to bat in Ethan Wood, Parker Burt stepped in to pinch hit and drove in Fleek, and Smith singled to bring home Hearn, closing the deficit to 6-10.
UCCS added two more home runs in the sixth frame, scoring four total runs. Iandoli led off the seventh inning with a single, and scored on Moulin's double, while Moulin came home on Harrison's single. An error allowed UCCS to get one of those runs back in the bottom, 15-8. RBI doubles from Smith and Iandoli brought the Rangers into double digits, and Iandoli came home on a passed ball. Wood's single batted in Moulin, and Harrison cleared the bases with a two-run homer. An RBI double in the bottom of the eighth by UCCS made a one-run game a three-run game. Pettingill launched a solo homer, but was the only run to score to end the game, 15-17.

GAME TWO
The Mountain Lions continued their momentum in the second, scoring three runs on a homer and two triples in the first inning. Despite a Wood single and Fleek double, UCCS extended their lead to 11-0 in the second, recording seven runs on six hits. However, the Rangers came alive in the third, as Smith homered to score Mason Grube and Grayson Headrick. Back-to-back Pettingill and Iandoli doubles scored another run, and Moulin went yard again for a two-run shot. Headrick joined for his second hit of the inning, a home run that scored three runs, closing the gap to 9-11.
In the fourth, Wood gave Regis the lead with a grand slam, and Dylan Perry added to the lead with a solo homer. However, three home runs by the Mountain Lions in the bottom gave the advantage back to UCCS, 15-14. In the fifth, Iandoli led off with a solo homer, followed by a Moulin double. He would give RU the lead, scoring on a wild pitch. But the Mountain Lions also scored on a wild pitch, tying the game again in the sixth.
While the Rangers were able to bat in their half of the seventh, darkness ended the game before UCCS completed their half. Therefore, the game is officially marked a six-inning tie. No pitching determinations are made.
