GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team recorded a 0-12 loss to Colorado Mesa University, the #1 ranked team in the NCBWA Top 25 Poll, on Friday afternoon in the first game of a four-game weekend series. The Rangers fall to 14-24-1 (5-15-1 RMAC), while the Mavericks climb to 38-3 (24-0 RMAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The game started with a Linus Fleek single as the Rangers loaded the bases, but neither team would bring in a run in the first. CMU took the first lead of the game in the second on a two-RBI single, and added three runs on a pair of homers in the third. A fourth-inning wild pitch allowed the sixth Maverick run to score.
Jack Moulin laid down a bunt single in the fifth, but was left on base as Mesa extended their advantage with an RBI single in the bottom of the frame. Ayden Harrison singled to left field in the sixth, but that would be the final hit for the Rangers, as in the seventh, the Mavericks recorded two more hits, brining in five runs and ending the game, 12-0
