NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.— The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has released its weekly Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, and the Rangers have been ranked #19.
Regis ranked #18 in last week's poll.
The Rangers put together a perfect 3-0 road trip this week, starting with a 10-5 win at Colorado Mesa. Maggie Schipfer and Lexie Springman both scored three goals, while Evie Tanella assisted two. Defensively, Krista Munsinger recorded four ground balls and four caused turnovers, as Regis held the Mavericks to their season low five goals.
RU then put together a dominant 18-5 win over Fort Lewis, with Schipfer and Springman both recording seven points on five goals and two assists. Aubrey Benton added another five scores to go with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Elle Enselman controlled five draws.
In their final match, Evie Tanella scored four goals, assisted one, and forced four turnovers, while Schipfer scored four times, including three times in the third quarter as Regis mounted a second-half comeback. Benton, Springman, and Kyla Bieker all posted three points, and Abby Mays five turnovers. Brigit Goetsch saved 11 shots in the goal.
The Rangers look to avenge their lone RMAC loss, hosting Westminster University (Utah) on Friday, April 10, at 7 pm. On Sunday, April 12, they host Colorado Mesa at 12 pm.
Regis also ranked #19 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine weekly Top-20 Poll.
