DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team began their final regular season series on Friday afternoon, battling Adams State University for the final spot in the RMAC Championship Tournament. ASU took the early game, 8-5, while Regis took the nightcap, 15-5. The Rangers move to 18-29-1 (9-20-1 RMAC), while the Grizzlies move to 12-36 (7-23 RMAC).
GAME ONE
The Rangers were able to turn a double play from the outfield in the top of the first, but the Grizzlies still brought in a run. Linus Fleek earned a lead-off single, but did not advance. In the third inning, ASU used four hits to score four more runs, including a three-run homer. Fleek added another single, but was stranded on base again.
In the fourth, Park Romney was walked, followed by a single by Bobo Iandoli. Nicholai Arnold got Regis on the board with a three-run homer over left center. After getting out of a bases loaded situation in the fifth, Romney sacrificed to right, bringing home Fleek. Adams scored in the sixth, and used three hits in the seventh to extend their lead to 8-4.
Neither team recorded a hit in the eighth, and ASU put one on in the ninth. In the bottom of the final inning, Arnold led off with a double, and Fleek singled to score him. Jack Moulin was walked to bring the tying run to the plate, but a strikeout ended the game, 5-8.
GAME NOTES
· Fleek went 3-4 at the plate with an RBI
· Arnold batted in three runs on two hits
· Romney and Ayden Harrison both stole a base
· Rocco Harmon (L, 3-6) recorded the loss with seven strikeouts. Cody Sheets had three K's in 2.0 IP

GAME TWO
The Rangers came out on fire in the late game, as Fleek led off the bottom of the first with a double. Moulin traded spots with an RBI double, and Ethan Wood's single brought home Moulin. Romney singled, Harrison batted in a run with a double, and Arnold scored Romney with a single. Dylan Hearn was hit by a pitch, and Fleek's second AB in the inning results in a two-RBI double. Moulin's bunt brought in a run, and Fleek was able to score on a passed ball, bringing the score to 8-0.
Regis added three more runs on three more hits in the second, including singles from Fleek and Smith, and an Arnold double. Adams got on the board in the third with a two-run home run and RBI single. But RU was able to get two of those back with Harrison's two-run homer.
In the fifth inning, ASU recorded another two-run shot to left center, bringing the score to 13-5. Two strikeouts helped make quick work of ASU in the sixth, while singles from Arnold and Moulin, as well as a wild pitch, helped extend the lead to 15-5. Adams recorded a seventh inning single, but got no closer to home, and closer Nathan Ling struck out two.
GAME NOTES
