DENVER, Colo. – The Regis University Baseball team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a split against Adams State University, 22-23 and 10-3. The Rangers move to 19-30-1 (10-21-1 RAMC), while the Grizzlies end the season 13-37 (8-24 RMAC).
GAME ONE
Neither team would record a hit in the first inning, however, in the second, Regis would use a pair of solo home runs from Ayden Harrison and Nicholai Arnold to take an early lead. Mason Grube was walked, and George Smith singled, setting up an RBI single for Fleek, and Smith would score on the error. Ethan Wood's single brought home Fleek, making it 5-0 after two.
The Grizzlies would get on the board in the third, scoring on an RBI double, RBI single, and a wild pitch. Regis was able to get one of those runs back in the fourth, as Fleek singled, and made it home as another Wood found himself in a pickle. Adams was able to capitalize on three hits and a pair of Regis errors to bring the game within one, 5-6. In the bottom of the frame, Harrison notched his second solo homer of the game.
A pair of sixth-inning singles scored another Adams' run, while in the bottom, Mason Grube singled, Fleek singled, and with two outs, Wood batted both in with a left-center double. The Grizzlies had an answer in the seventh, scoring three runs on a bases-clearing double to tie the game at 9-9. A single brought home another run, while a homer pushed the AWU lead to 13-9.
Harrison's third home run of the game scored two runs, while a Moulin double tied the game at 13-13. Adams scored eight runs in the eighth, using five hits, including a triple and home run, and two Ranger errors. RU responded with a three-run Park Romney home run, an RBI single by Parker Burt, Arnold scored on an error, Fleek sacrificed to bring around Burt, and Wood's single batted in Ethan Ralph, bringing the score to 20-21.
In the final inning, the Grizzlies scored on a back-to-back RBI double and sac fly, going up three runs. Arnold single in the bottom of the inning, Burt was hit by a pitch, and Fleek was walked. Moulin's single scored two, but the tying run would be stranded on third, ending the game, 22-23.

GAME TWO
Both teams recorded a first-inning hit, but neither scored. Adams got on the board on the second with a two RBI single, but the Rangers evened the score in the bottom on a Dylan Perry RBI single and Moulin RBI single. RU then took the lead in the third off a three-run shot from Arnold. Fleek singled to bring in Perry, while Moulin doubled to score Fleek.
The Rangers added to the lead in the fourth with a single up the middle by Arnold batting in Romney, while Fleek took an RBI walk. Adams managed to get one back in the fifth on an RBI single, but RU got that back on an RBI single from Arnold. Adams had one hit in the sixth, but did not score, and the game ended there due to darkness.
