DENVER, Colo. – Regis University Athletics closed up September action this past week with them now reaching nearly the halfway point for fall sports.

TEAM UPDATES
VOLLEYBALL
The Rangers took part in the RMAC Regional Pod this past week with them facing off against CSU Pueblo and UCCS, both in nonconference bouts.
Regis was taken down 3-0 in both matchups with them falling to CSUP 3-0 on Tuesday on the road before they then hosted UCCS on Friday in the loss.
Friday's game also served as the team's alumni weekend/match with many former Ranger volleyball players in attendance.
Week/Weekend Notes:
· Three different players finished with double digit kills in the week with Sabrina Landman leading the group at 17
· Kailyn Polzin added 13 kills with Kendall Allaire having 12
· Cady Knight led the team with 27 digs
· Nicole Shaver totaled 33 assists with Maddie Lynett having 18
Coming up this week the Rangers will now host another pair of home games when they welcome New Mexico Highlands on Friday night at 7 P.M. and then Adams State University on Saturday at 3 P.M. Both are conference matchups.
N.M. Highlands is currently 2-12 (0-4 RMAC) while Adams State is 8-8 (2-2 RMAC). This will be the first time the Rangers meet with either team this season.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Rangers continued their strong start to conference play this past week as they won another pair of RMAC games against the schools of CSU Pueblo and #RV Colorado School of Mines.
The Rangers shutout CSU Pueblo 3-0 on Friday night in Pueblo before then upsetting Mines 2-1 on the road in Golden on Sunday.
Regis is now on a seven-game winning streak with them currently 4-0 in RMAC play to tie for an early season first place standing. In addition, their win over Mines was the first time the Rangers have beat a team either ranked or receiving votes in the IWSOC rankings.
Weekend Notes:
· Fernanda Rodriguez recorded two goals to lead the team with both coming against Mines
· Andie Rylance, Brooke Castillo and Paula Igula all had goals against CSU Pueblo as well
· Castillo and Elsa Nolen had the team's two assists across the five goals
· Maggie Payne recorded 12 saves across the two games with her totaling a career-high 10 against Mines
Regis will play to a split schedule this week now when they host Westminster University (Utah) on Friday night at 7 P.M. before then heading down I-25 to face off with UCCS on Sunday in Colorado Springs at 1 P.M.
Westminster is currently 3-1-2 (1-1-2 RMAC) while UCCS is 7-2-1 (3-1 RMAC). UCCS has the second most wins the conference behind Regis as well.
MEN'S SOCCER
The Regis men's soccer team played a lone match this past weekend as they opened conference play against South Dakota Mines in a 2-1 victory.
The Rangers are now 4-2-2 (1-0 RMAC) with that being the first weekend all season they hadn't faced off with a ranked team.
The Rangers are currently ranked No. 20 in the nation and will wait to see where they stand when the new rankings drop tomorrow.
Week/Wekend Notes:
· Regis outshot the Hardrockers 11-5 while also owning the corner kick advantage, 7-1
· Michael Ajagbe and Adam Thresher both scored in the game with Thresher's being his first of his career
· Ajagbe has also scored in three consecutive games now
· Liam Corr assisted on both goals with Francisco Ruiz also recording one
· Zach Jennings totaled two saves in the net
The Rangers will now take on two ranked teams in conference play this week when they travel to #13 CSU Pueblo on Friday night at 6 P.M. and then to #2 UCCS on Sunday at 1 P.M.
CSU Pueblo is currently in the best start of their program history at they are 7-0-1 (1-0-1 RMAC) while UCCS is 5-1-4 (0-1-1 RMAC). The Rangers previously fell to UCCS two weeks ago in a nonconference matchup, 2-1.
