Senior
Catherine Anger would respond in the 19
th minute connecting on a cross from junior
Rikki Fix on the right side. Anger beat her defender and the keeper to the near post to touch it in for the equalizer.
From that moment on, the momentum never shifted back to the visitors. RU played a very clean and dominant style for the rest of the match. Junior
Maggie Saras would put Regis on top in the 26
th minute after her header from a corner kick hit the crossbar. Saras collected the rebound and ripped a shot past all of the traffic in the box for her second goal of the year, proving to be the game winner.
With a 2-1 lead the teams broke for halftime. It was clear which team was ready to go in the second half as the Rangers cruised out of the gates. Six minutes into the second half Anger sent a corner kick into the box where a waiting senior
Maison O'Neill was there to head the ball into the net, extending the lead to 3-1 in favor of the home team.
Nine minutes later, in the 61
st minute freshman
Chevonne John raced down the weak side of the field beating a defender to reach a pass sent in from Saras. John got her foot on the ball whipping it into the right side of the goal give RU a comfortable 4-1 advantage.
The Rangers were not finished on the offensive end. After being awarded a corner kick in the 63
rd minute, junior
Caelyn Hirschman stepped up to deliver a ball into the box. However, playing such a well-placed ball, the kick ended up sailing into the far side of the net, in the air, without any players touching it. Hirschman was awarded the goal on the play, her third of the season.
Nearly six minutes later the final nail was driven into the coffin by freshman
Sofia Garcia who won a ball in the offensive zone, turning to face the goal and delivering a perfectly placed shot out of the reach of the goalkeeper's grasp.
When the dust finally settled, RU finished with a 6-1 victory over WSCU improving to 6-3-1 inside the conference. The Rangers completed the game with 23 shots, 11 on goal, and nine corner kicks. The home team limited the visitors to only eight shots, five on goal and a single corner kick. Senior
