ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Regis University men's golf team sits in tenth place after two rounds at the par 72 course at the Western New Mexico University Intercollegiate. The women's team is currently in sixth place after one day of the Dixie State Invitational.
On the men's side, sophomore
Tyler Zhang is tied for ninth individually and leads the Rangers with a score of 148 (+4). Zhang recorded four birdies through the first two rounds on his way to carding a 76-72 – 148.
Sophomore
Nicholas Tenuta finished the first round with a score of 72. He is currently tied for 21
stafter recording five birdies in the first round. In the second round, he took eight strokes to finish hole 17, setting him back to a round total of 79.
Sophomore
Austen Ancell is one stroke behind Tenuta with a score of 152 (76-76). The Rangers rounded ended day one with a total of 610 strokes through two rounds, they will look to bounce back tomorrow and climb the leaderboard with another 18 holes of play.
The women's team was led by sophomore
Kate Keuss to a sixth-place standing. Kuess finished round one with a score of 77. She was followed by freshman Natalie
Pietromonaco who posted a 78. Freshman
Emma Winfree carded a 79, tying for 28
thas freshman
Trinity Corwin followed with an 80, tied for 31
st.
Senior
Andrea Trevino posted an 82, good enough for 39
thindividually.
The women's golf team will play one more round tomorrow with the chance to climb up in the standings.
