LAS VEGAS – The Regis University women's golf team commenced the spring slate of its 2019-20 season with an impressive first round of play at the Warrior Vegas Invitational, carding a 36-over par 324 for a share of second place at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club on Monday.
Junior
Kate Keuss led the Rangers while attaining a share of the overall individual lead with her first-round score of 4-over 76.
Not far behind is sophomore
Trinity Corwin, who shot a 6-over 78 in the first round. Corwin's score sits her in a tie for fifth.
Senior
Maddie Kern ended the first round with a score of 12-over 84 en route to a share of 20th place.
Sophomore
Emma Winfree rounded out the Rangers scorecard with her 14-over 86 score through 18 holes, which puts her in a tie for 26th overall.
Keuss is tied with senior Alexandra Demko of Minot State for the individual lead.
RU is tied with Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) rival Chadron State and trails first-place Concordia St. Paul, which shot a 33-over 321 for the first round, by three strokes.
The Rangers will begin the second round of play at the Winona State-hosted tournament on Tuesday at 9 a.m. MT.
