DENVER – Head coach J.B. Belzer of the Regis University women's soccer team is thrilled to announce the addition of four quality players who have all signed their National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play soccer for Regis University starting in 2020. The incoming quartet consists of Sophia Leone (Fort Collins, Colo.), Eve Rouyer (Kansas City, Mo.), Jillian Skurcenski (Centennial, Colo.) and Isabella Woliver (Frisco, Texas).
 
Belzer on the 2020 signing class: "We add these four teammates to a returning team that will feature nine seniors in 2020. As we aim to finish in the top three of the RMAC and earn a berth to the NCAA Tournament next fall, these four must earn and find ways to contribute if we are to achieve our goals. Collectively, they bring quality, depth, and additional athleticism to a team ready to compete for honors in an always-grueling RMAC and South Central region."
 
 
Sophia Leone | Fort Collins, Colo. | Defender
 
Leone is a senior at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colo. She is a four-year varsity letterwinner in soccer. Leone earned All-5A Front Range Honorable Mention recognition as a junior and made All-5A Front Range First Team and All-State Honorable Mention as a sophomore with the Sabercats. During her sophomore year, she scored a goal and had three assists in 15 games played. As a junior, she scored three goals and contributed one assist in just six games. Her playing experience extends to the club level with the Rapids ECNL 01/02 team. Leone has also made her presence known in the classroom. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, National Business Honor Society and Science National Honor Society and has additionally earned academic letters in all four years of high school. Leone plans to major in Nursing and is the daughter of Chris and Shayna Leone.
 
Belzer on Leone: "Sophia brings a tenacious defending mentality, combined with athleticism, that will enable her to get up and down the flank as a wing defender. Her experience and training with Colorado Rapids ECNL will enhance her ability to contribute as a freshman, and we are excited to add her to our defending corps for 2020."
 
 
Eve Rouyer | Kansas City, Mo. | Defender/Midfielder
 
Rouyer is a senior who was homeschooled in Kansas City, Mo. She lettered in both soccer and basketball. Previously a player at Kansas City East Christian Academy in Kansas City, Mo., Rouyer scored 54 goals and contributed 30 assists, including her junior season in which she had 26 goals and 12 assists with the Lions. Through her high-school career, she made the National Homeschool Soccer Tournament All-Tournament Team as both a sophomore and junior. In basketball, Rouyer was also named Freshman Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-Region Team during her freshman year. Outside of high school, she played for the KC Legends Academy 2001 club team. She is very academically inclined as she has made the Honor Roll in every semester she has been a student. Rouyer plans to major in Political Science as well as minor in Music and Spanish. She is the daughter of David and Jennifer Rouyer.
 
Belzer on Rouyer: "Eve adds a physical presence as a central defender or defensive midfielder in our 2020 squad. A soccer and basketball student-athlete at Kansas City East Christian Academy, it was her play with KC Legends Soccer Club that convinced us she has the tools to contribute to [our] program in 2020 and beyond."
 
 
Jillian Skurcenski | Centennial, Colo. | Midfielder
 
Skurcenski is a senior at Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo. She was named the GHS MVP as a sophomore and was a member of the 2019 5A Soccer State Champion team as a junior. She scored three goals and had two assists during her junior campaign with the Wolves. On the club circuit, Skurcenski has played for Real Colorado and Colorado Rapids club teams. In the classroom, she has made the Academic Honor Roll throughout high school, maintaining at least a 3.75 grade point average. Skurcenski wants to go into a profession in which she helps people. She is the daughter of Jason and Natalie Skurcenski.
 
Belzer on Skurcenski: "Jill brings championship experience from both Real Colorado Soccer Club and Grandview High School, where she shines as a central midfielder. With a strong engine and ability to connect passes both short and long, it is her uncanny ability to score or create timely goals that has us excited for her to join the Rangers in 2020."
 
 
Isabella Woliver | Frisco, Texas | Midfielder
 
Woliver is a senior at Frisco Independence High School in Frisco, Texas. She earned spots on the Academic All-5A Region 2 District 9 Team all four years with the Knights. Woliver additionally was a member of the All-District First Team and All-District Second Team in high school. She also played on teams that were District Champions and reached the regional finals. Woliver has an extensive background at the club level as well, having played for McKinney FC, TFC, Dallas Rush, Liverpool FC and Sting Soccer. Through her work in the classroom, she is a member of the Academic All-District Team and the National Honor Society. Woliver plans to do a dual-degree program at Regis University. She is the daughter of Thomas and Tricia Woliver.
 
Belzer on Woliver: "Bella is a crafty, skilled wing attacker with speed, quickness, and a mentality to create and score goals. Playing for the Sting Soccer Club in North Texas, she has proven success against the same caliber of players we face in South Central play from the Lone Star Conference. We are excited to bring her attacking prowess to the RMAC and Regis University in 2020."
