Erin Fry of the Regis University women's basketball team were named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Defensive Player of the Year and Co-Freshman of the Year, respectively, while senior guard
Tashika Burrell made All-RMAC Second Team, the conference office announced on Thursday.

Jacob, who also secured a spot on the All-RMAC First Team for the second straight season, led the RMAC in rebounding, averaging 11.0 rebounds per game, including 9.1 defensive rebounds per game. She ranked third in blocks per game (1.3), sixth in points per game (16.6), seventh in free-throw percentage (.810), seventh in minutes played per game (33.9), ninth in field-goal percentage (.379), and 10th in 3-point field goals per game (1.9).

Her season-high of 23 points occurred in the Rangers' season-opening contest at Metropolitan State University of Denver on Nov. 27, when she also had a game-high 13 rebounds and one assist. Jacob accumulated a season-high and game-high of 18 rebounds to go along with a game-high 19 points, one assist, and a share of the game-high two blocks in Regis's game against Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 10.

Fry ranked second in the RMAC in assist-turnover ratio (1.6), fifth in assists per game (3.4), and 25th in minutes played per game (29.7).

She made one of the most impressive debuts in RU history when she clinched a double-double performance of a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in the Rangers' season opener at MSU Denver on Nov. 27. Fry also had two assists, a share of the game-high one block, and a share of the team-high two steals in that game. She matched her season high of 10 rebounds (all defensive) in Regis's 65-59 victory over Colorado Mesa on Feb. 19. Fry was credited with a season-high and game-high seven assists in RU's 73-55 win while hosting Colorado Christian on Feb. 22.

Burrell, who earned her first All-RMAC Second Team distinction, ranks second in the conference in average minutes (36.6), sixth in free-throw percentage (.814), eighth in assists per game (3.1), eighth in assist-turnover ratio (1.1), 13th in points per game (12.9), and 14th in 3-point field goals per game (1.8).

She scored a season-high and game-high 22 points, including making all five 3-point attempts and all three free-throw attempts, to go along with four rebounds, two assists, and a share of the team-high one steal in the Rangers' 77-66 win over CSU Pueblo on Jan. 30. Burrell tabulated a season-high six assists in Regis's 73-55 win while hosting CCU on Feb. 22 and had a season-high and share of the game-high four steals as well as a season-high nine rebounds against Fort Lewis on Jan. 18.

RU holds an 8-10 record overall. The Rangers are waiting to learn if they qualified for a slot in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament in the days to come.
