Peoples Garners Preseason Recognition from USA Lacrosse Magazine

Peoples named Preseason Attacker of the Year and a Preseason All-American

SPARKS, Md. - Graduate student attacker Kyleigh Peoples of the Regis University lacrosse team has garnered some impressive nods prior to the start of the 2022 season. Peoples has been recognized by the USA Lacrosse Magazine as the Preseason Attacker of the Year and as a Preseason All-American.

Peoples, who is a two-time defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Attacker of the Year, had a phenomenal season last year for the Rangers. Peoples led the conference in several categories including goals (54), goals per game (3.60), assists (37), assists per game (2.47), points (91), and points per game (6.07). Her 93-point total last year (56g-37a) was fourth best in the nation and included 12 games in which she tallied five points or more.

Peoples helped lead the Rangers in 2021 to a regular season RMAC Women's Lacrosse title, a RMAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title and a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament.

In 2022, Peoples has a strong chance to finish her career as Regis' all-time leader in goals, assists, and points. She currently has 154 goals, 104 assists and 258 points to her name as a Ranger. Currently, Sarah Myres (2016-2019) has the most goals (215), assists (126) and points (341) in RU's history.

We can't wait to see what Peoples has in store for 2022! The team's first game is slated for Feb. 4 versus Concordia University, St. Paul. Stay tuned to www.RegisRangers.com for all updates regarding Ranger Lacrosse.
