Denver, Colo. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has officially announced its 2026 At-Large Academic All-District Team, with six members of the Rangers' Women's Lacrosse team being honored for their academic achievements.
Graduate goalkeeper Brigit Goetsch is a repeat honoree from last year, while senior attacker Maggie Schipfer, junior midfielder Lexie Springman, junior defender Abby Mays, sophomore midfielder Aubrey Benton, and sophomore defender Ayla Cole are all first-time recipients.
Goetsch is an Accounting major boasts a 4.0 graduate GPA to go with her 3.93 undergraduate GPA. She had a historic season in the cage for the Rangers, starting all 20 games for RU, posting a 14-6 record, and recording a Regis record 195 saves, third best in NCAA DII. Those saves came on a .515 save percentage (3rd-NCAA), and Goetsch held opponents to 9.84 goals per match. Her 57 ground balls also led the team and is a top-10 mark in program history.
Schipfer led the Rangers with 58 goals scored, landing over 69% of her shots on goal. Schipfer added 13 assists for a total of 71 points. She added 27 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers, and two draw controls, while posting a 3.66 GPA in her Nursing degree.
Springman, a Health and Exercise Science major with a 3.81 GPA ,was one of the most prolific free position scorers in the nation this year, scoring 21 times, third most in DII. She was the Rangers' team-leader in points (73) and assists (24). She also scored 49 goals, while picking up 12 GB, causing seven turnovers, and controlling eight draws.
Mays led RU with 33 caused turnovers, and collected 36 ground balls. She also controlled three draws while leading the Rangers' defensive line. She has a 3.81 GPA while pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Benton, another Nursing major with a 3.85 GPA, adds another accolade to her breakout season. Second on the squad with 57 goals scored, Benton added six assists for 63 points, put 83% of her shots on target, and picked up 27 ground balls. She forced 11 turnovers and added two draw controls.
Cole maintains a 3.93 GPA, studying French. She played in all 20 games, starting 18, on the back line. She caused 19 turnovers, picked up 13 ground balls, and controlled two draws.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District nomination, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, undergraduate candidates must carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and graduate student candidates must have a 3.50 GPA both as an undergraduate and as a graduate student. Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes At-Large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
