COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —
The Regis University baseball team has been one of the feel good stories of the spring, vaulting from a No. 4 preseason ranking in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) to earning the program's highest regular season finish in the RMAC standings (Second) and the No. 2 seed for this week's RMAC Tournament.

Regis was rewarded for its sensational spring Wednesday when the RMAC announced the conference's major awards, All-Conference Teams, and Gold Glove Team as a total of nine Rangers received recognition.

Regis senior right-hander Justin Kleinsorge was named First Team All-Conference, while junior third baseman Colten Chase and graduate student catcher Roger Riley each earned Second Team All-Conference Honors.

Junior first baseman Matt Marlow (.363/.433/.702, 13 HR, 54 RBI), junior pitcher Porter Hardcastle (4-2, 5.96 ERA, 43 Ks, 51.1 IP) and freshman shortstop Zach Daudet (.331/.495/.535, 4 HR, 29 RBI) all garnered RMAC Honorable Mention selections, as well.

As for the conference's individual awards, Regis head coach Drew LaComb was named the RMAC Coach of the Year for the first time in his young career after guiding the Rangers to a 27-22-1 overall record and 20-12 mark in the RMAC during the regular season. He's the first Regis baseball coach to win the award since Dan McDermott earned the honor in 2003.

Freshman right-hander Brady Gilmore was voted RMAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year after he bust onto the scene this spring, finishing 3-3 overall with a 6.64 earned run average and 36 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched. Gilmore made five starts in the month of April, going 2-0 in those starts, highlighted by a seven-inning shutout performance against UCCS back on April 9 that earned him RMAC Pitcher of the Week honors.

The third individual award winner for Regis was sophomore outfielder Levi Padilla, who was named to the RMAC Gold Glove Team. The native of Nogales, Arizona has shined as the Rangers' every day center fielder this year, batting .348 with six home runs and 31 driven in batting primarily out of the leadoff spot. Defensively, he owned a .979 fielding percentage with just two errors in 94 total chances.

For Kleinsorge, Wednesday marked his debut on the First Team All-Conference list after being voted a Second Team selection in 2021. The big righty led all RMAC pitchers during the regular season with 92 strikeouts in 64.2 innings pitched. The Rangers' ace enters the postseason with a record of 5-3 and a 5.57 earned run average.

Riley also earned his first All-Conference honors after a sensational spring that saw him lead the team in hitting with a .448 batting average, seven home runs, team-high 53 runs scored and 41 driven in. He walked more times (11) than he struck out (9) in 163 at-bats and his .448 average is currently the third best mark in the RMAC.

As for Chase, the speedy third baseman led all RMAC players with 23 stolen bases during the regular season to go with his .386 batting average and 44 runs driven in across 42 games.
