Shepardson named RMAC Pitcher of the Week for Week Six

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the winners of the RMAC Players of the Week awards on Tuesday, with Regis University sophomore right-hander Blake Shepardson taking home the Week Six Pitcher of the Week honors.

Shepardson earns the award after throwing his first career complete game on Sunday in a 17-2 romp of Adams State University. The sophomore tossed seven strong innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits and striking out a season-high six batters versus just one walk.

The Regis right-hander struck out the side in the top of the seventh to punctuate his career outing and move to 2-1 overall in five starts so far this spring.

Shepardson and the rest of the Rangers will be back in action Friday, March 24 when they host No. 13 Metropolitan State University of Denver. Game One of the series is scheduled for 12 p.m. that Friday at the Regis Baseball Field.
