Rangers Picked to Finish Second in RMAC Coaches Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has officially released its 2025 Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll, and Regis has been selected to finish second in the league.

The Rangers collected 56 total points, including one first-place vote.

Colorado Mesa was chosen unanimously to repeat as conference champions for the 13th straight season. The Mavericks received eight first place votes.

In third place was Metropolitan State University-Denver with 48 points, followed by Colorado State University Pueblo in fourth with 44 points. Colorado School of Mines collected 37 points for fifth place.

University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Adams State University tied for sixth place, each garnering 25 points, while Colorado Christian was eight at 14 points, and New Mexico Highlands was ninth with 11 votes.

In the poll, 9 points were awarded for a first-place vote, with one point less for each succeeding place. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

The Rangers, under the management of second-year Head Coach Pat Jolley, look to build on their 2024 season that saw a 32-24-1 (20-12 RMAC) record, a second place finish in the RMAC standings, a trip to the RMAC Championship game, and a berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Key returners for the Rangers include

·         Adam Paniagua, Senior, Catcher

o   Paniagua missed the final month of the season, but his .427 batting average, 17 home runs, 60 RBI, and .924 slugging percentage in 38 games (all starts) carried him to First Team All-RMAC and Second Team ABCA All-Region honors.

·         Maxim Fullerton, Senior, Outfielder

o   Fullerton enjoyed a First Team All-RMAC season in 2023 after batting .347 with 16 doubles, 10 home runs, 54 runs scored, and 62 RBI.

·         Clayton Conn, Senior (RS), Infielder

o   A Second Team All-RMAC pick last season, Conn enjoyed the best season of his Regis career. He led the RMAC in walks (40), runs scored (76), hit by pitch (20), stolen bases (34), and triples (5). He batted .354 over 56 games and had a .500 on-base percentage.

·         Garrett Rede, Senior, Outfielder

o   A Second Team All-RMAC pick last season, Conn enjoyed the best season of his Regis career. He led the RMAC in walks (40), runs scored (76), hit by pitch (20), stolen bases (34), and triples (5). He batted .354 over 56 games and had a .500 on-base percentage.
