NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.— The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has released its weekly Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, and the Rangers have moved to #17.
Regis ranked #15 in the last two polls.
RU started the week with an 11-7 home win over Rockhurst University (Mo.). A trio of Rangers, Lexie Springman, Aubrey Benton, and Maggie Schipfer, netted three goal, with Springman adding two assists. Sophia Katnik recorded two caused turnovers and four ground balls, and Birgit Goetsch saved seven shots.
Later in the week, the Rangers hosted #3 UIndy, but lost to the Greyhounds, 15-11. Springman scored another five goals, and Schipfer contributed five. Abby Mays forced three turnovers and had three ground balls. Goetsch saved 12 shots, picked up five GB, and forced a turnover from the goal.
In their final game of the week, the RAMC opener at Westminster, Schipfer scored a career-high seven goals. Rome Villani and Lauren Sheets added three more points apiece, and Evie Tanella added three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Goetsch also saved 10 shots.
This week, the Rangers play William Jewell College (Mo.) at Westminster on Monday, and host a pair of RMAC games against CSU Pueblo on Friday, and Fort Lewis College on Sunday.
