Box Score DENVER, Colo. – In a cross-town rivalry game that always proves competitive and physically demanding, the No. 9 Regis University Rangers and the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers battled through 110 minutes to end in a scoreless tie, Sunday afternoon.
Â
The Orediggers were more aggressive at the start of the match testing RU goalkeeper
Chase Webert through the first minutes of action. Webert and the Ranger backline kept Colorado Mines from breaking the game open. As the time got deeper in the clock in the first half, Regis began knocking the ball past the Oredigger backline for some chances of their own.
Â
The final minutes before halftime were highlighted by RU. Regis saw three shots and a corner kick in the last five minutes but CSM was able to hold off the attacking Rangers as the score remained 0-0.
Â
RU flipped the script in the second half dominating Colorado Mines 10-2 in the shot column and 5-0 in corner kicks. The Orediggers suffered a red card in the 61
st minute of play forcing them to play a man down for the remainder of the match.
Â
As time neared regulation, the Rangers kept pushing. Chance after chance would eventually fall short for RU as CSM held on just long enough to send it to overtime.
Â
In the first overtime,
Porter Milner rifled a shot off a free kick that required a diving save from the Colorado Mines keeper. Then, in the second overtime period,
Joe Mansfield got his head on long throw-in redirecting the ball towards the goal but the Orediggers goalkeeper came up with the save again. Regis continued applying offensive pressure but ultimately could not find that golden goal through 20 extra minutes of play.

Noah Chapleski led RU with three shots a piece. Webert was sensational in goal playing in all 110 minutes making two saves on 11 shots faced.
