Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The No. 17 ranked Regis University women's lacrosse team (2-0) earned their second straight win to open the season. This time it was a 17-4 pounding of the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks (1-1) in a non-conference matchup between the two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) foes.
How It Happened: Regis drew first blood scoring the first goal of the game three minutes into the first half. Junior Rachel Walker netted her first goal of the day, taking a pass from senior
Erin Steiner and slotting it past the goalkeeper. A few minutes later, junior
Jada Bonner got into the action as she scored an unassisted goal to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead with 21 minutes to go in the opening half.
A goal from the home team tied the game at two goals apiece. That was when RU kicked it into full gear. Regis went on a tear, scoring 13 straight goals spanning from 15:12 in the first to 14:00 left in the second half, to take a commanding 15-2 advantage over the Mavericks. Sophomore

Wendy Donier added two, and a host of other players chipped in with goals of their own.
The Rangers defense held CMU to only two goals in the second half, scoring seven of their own, to take home the victory, 17-4 on the road. Sophomore goalkeeper
Hope Correia picked up her second win of the year making three saves in 51 minutes and allowing only three goals.
Game Notes: Walker (2 G, 2 A) and Myres (3G, 1A) led the team with four points on the day as 11 separate players netted goals for RU. Bonner dominated with seven draw controls on the afternoon, adding three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Steiner picked up three draw controls, two goals and one assist. Regis outshot the Mavericks 28-14, putting 23 of those shots on target. Efficiency wise, the Rangers limited themselves to only eight turnovers while forcing 13.
Next Up for the Rangers: The women's lacrosse team will remain on the road for the next four games, making their way to No. 5 Lindenwood, Mckendree University, Rockhurst University and Oklahoma Baptist University.
