DENVER, Colo. – On Thursday afternoon it was decided that the field conditions at the Regis Lacrosse Field would not create safe enough practice/game environments for the four teams participating in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Women's Lacrosse Midwest Regional Tournament. Rain and a mixture of snow have plagued the city of Denver and many surrounding areas.
With that in mind, a decision was made to move the location of the games to be played on Friday, to the turf field at the Regency Athletic Complex on the campus of Metropolitan State University of Denver.
In order to secure a safe practice environment, practices were moved to the Regency Athletic Complex on Thursday with each team using their designated practice times as they all prepare for battle on Friday.
Game times will remain the same with #1 seeded Regis University playing No. 4 seeded University of Indianapolis at 11 a.m. MST and No. 2 seeded Lindenwood University matching up with No. 3 seeded Colorado Mesa University at 3 p.m. on Friday.
The winner of each semifinal game will advance to the Midwest Regional Championship game on Sunday at noon when everything moves back to the Regis Lacrosse Field based on an acceptable weather forecast on Saturday and Sunday.
