Rangers Ranked #20 in this Week's Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Regis University Men's Soccer team has moved to #20 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, released on Tuesday morning.

The Rangers were #17 in last week's poll, and have appeared in all four regular season votes.

The Rangers closed out their regular season slate last week, starting with a dominant 3-0 win at Westminster University (Utah). Jacobo Betancourt-Tovar led RU with three points, scoring on a Matys Price assist, then setting up Michael Ajagbe for his score. Abram Wilson then scored an unassisted goal, firing in a loose ball after a goalie deflection.

On Sunday, Regis hosted #3 UCCS (now #2). This completed the most stacked non-conference schedule in the nation, as it was RU's third match against a Top-5 team, and their sixth ranked opponent in seven games. The Rangers took an early lead on Ajagbe's goal, assisted by Wilson and keeper Zach Jennings. However, a late rally gave the Mountain Lions a 2-1 win.

Regis is ranked #4 in the South Central Regional Rankings, behind UCCS, Midwestern State, and CSU-Pueblo.

RU opens RMAC play on Sunday, September 27, hosting South Dakota Mines at 1 pm.
